On 23 September 2020, the SOVICO Group and UNESCO signed an agreement in Ha Noi to support an initiative launched by UNESCO to mobilize youth engagement and cultural dynamism to support Ha Noi`s new name as UNESCO`s new creative city for design. The agreement provides for a review every three years, which will ensure continuous improvement of the regime and will achieve and improve its climate target over time, in line with the objective of limiting the increase in global temperature to a level well below 2oC, as agreed in the Paris Agreement. This pioneering agreement, which supports an initiative launched by UNESCO to mobilize youth engagement and cultural dynamism to support Ha Noi`s new name as a new creative city for UNESCO design, is the first time since Vietnam joined the United Nations in 1977 that a United Nations organization has entered into a direct partnership with a Vietnamese company and opens up new opportunities for SDG financing in the country. We anticipate that the United Arab Emirates and Israel should meet in late August/early September to conclude bilateral agreements on investment, tourism, direct flights, security, telecommunications, technology, energy, health, culture, the environment, mutual messaging and so-called “other areas of mutual interest.” This historic bilateral advance in economic growth, focused on technology and science, is in line with the plan of many states in the region, including the United Arab Emirates, to move away from oil-dependent industries and diversify their economies. It has been widely reported that other Gulf countries will announce similar agreements with Israel in the near future. We will keep you informed when and when this will happen. Through the Creative City Action Plan, we will work together to strengthen the city`s creative and cultural muscles to stimulate creativity and innovation in the economy as a whole, from technology to tourism, and to contribute to the sustainable development of the city and to improve the quality of life of its citizens.
