HER ARCHITECTURE

Consciously attuned to her roots as well as her surroundings, her work is carefully thought to the last detail, which strikes our every chord and makes us resonate with all that is beautiful.

Susana’s universe is a blend of smooth naughty lines that curve, crackle and multiply in forms that resist reason, echoing those of nature, to create a soothing, warm and inviting atmosphere, one that Scandinavian design is well known for. This is why arriving in Stockholm has always been one of her dreams, one of sustainable design inspired by people respectfully interacting and transforming their environment to better our lives, working in close collaboration, aiming at developing a collective, empowering intelligence.

Today, after 20 years of experience, Factoria expands to Miami, Florida with an architectural office led by her associate, the architect Claudia Phillips. At the moment they have initiated their first construction work in the district of Boca Ratón in Miami.

Her story is one of struggle and sheer determination, one that recognizes the contribution of key collaborators; among others, the engineer Kassian Obkirher, who fine-tunes her products to make them energy efficient and well balanced, the fine woodcraft artisan Lucien Burquier, who helps bring her wooden creatures to life, and the architect José Miguel Heras, her trustworthy partner in the early years of Factoría.

INTERSHIPS

THE METHOD:

We want to approach this discipline in the most effective and practical way possible.

In Factoría we have been working for more than 18 years to create and promote more sustainable environments. With this, we support communities and businesses to be more competitive through the processes of Creation and Management of Territories, Environments and Brands, and if we have learned something, it is that the development of the territory is not learned in books, but rather learn in the field of action.

LEARNING WORKING: All our practices in Factoría share this interdisciplinary experiential system, which imparts the learning of the disciplines through the work of real cases and projects. Based on a real case, with a genuine purpose that provides meaning, we follow a work methodology that will allow us to introduce all the training concepts of each area and practice them in a real work dynamic, committed to its context, where The challenges of this type of project will be experienced and the necessary concepts for its development and subsequent impact will be learned.

A PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: We will interact in a trustworthy environment that will allow us to learn by working. Thanks to a multisectorial team specialized in each discipline, we will advance in the formation and in the development of the project. A training that will give you experience and a unique experience of the professional world of territorial design, from the perspective of sustainability and with the collaboration of specific projects in specific places. In each of them, we act with commitment to a purpose and influence concrete social transformations.

INTERSHIPS FACTORIA is constantly looking for highly motivated and talented interns for a full-time internship of six months. Our trainee position will require strong design skills, good graphic communication skills and physical model making capabilities.

Candidates will be confident in Revit, Rhino and Adobe CS Suite. Experience in BIM and Grasshopper is a plus. You should be fluent in another language i.e. Spanish or English.

Please note that it is an internship for student or young architects. School or grant agreement is required (Erasmus lifelong learning program, Eramus Traineeship..).
